One of the most accessible waterfalls in the Philippines, Cathedral Falls is situated in Barangay Waterfalls, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte. It is well known for its unique and captivating rock formations.
The Cathedral Falls is located just about 10-15 minutes away from the town center. You'll be surprised to see the waterfalls just along the access road. You do not need to trek, hike a mountain or cross a river to see this waterfalls. Yes, it is that accessible. The waterfalls provides splendid viewing and photo opportunities to the visitors.
The rock wall of the waterfalls looks interesting and stunning. It resembles like a pipe organ which are commonly found in cathedrals.
View from the top
We wanted to get a glimpse of the brink so we hike to the top and found ourselves amazed of what we saw. It was an awesome experience. Thanks to Barangay Captain Avelita Tongco of Brgy. Waterfalls and the CAFGU personnel for accompanying us to the top.
How to get there:
From Iligan, take a bus going to Pagadian and alight at the Kapatagan Bus Terminal. Take a habal-habal going to Cathedral Falls which is located in Barangay Waterfalls. Travel time is around 10-20 mins and fare is P10-P15 each.
