Types of Visa and Visa Fees
Single Entry Visa: This is the most common type of visa issued to foreign tourists visiting Kenya. This is valid for 90 days. The single entry visa fee costs USD51 and can be obtained online, at the airport or at the border control.
Transit Visa: This visa is issued to nationalities requiring visas who intend to go out of the airport while in transit through Kenya. The transit visa fee is USD21 and is valid for 72 hours.
East Africa Tourist Visa: This is a joint tourist visa that allows visitors to travel to and within the Republic of Kenya, Republic of Rwanda and Republic of Uganda for the purpose of tourism. This is valid for 90 days and can be obtained on arrival. Learn more about the East Africa Visa.
How to Obtain a Kenya Visa Online?
Below is the step-by-step process of obtaining a Kenya visa online.

- Visit www.ecitizen.go.ke and register a new account
- Create an account
- Once Logged in, Select Department of Immigration Services.
- Select Submit Application.
- Choose Kenyan Visa.
- Select the type of Visa and read the instructions carefully.
- Fill in the application form.
- Pay using a debit or a credit card with a Visa or Mastercard logo.
- Wait for the approval via email, then download and print the eVisa from your eCitizen account.
- Present your printed eVisa to the immigration officer at the port of entry.
Requirements for Single Entry Kenya Visa
- Valid passport not expiring in the next 6 months
- Completed visa application form
- Copy of return ticket
- Hotel Booking confirmation (supporting document)
- A rough itinerary of places to be visited (supporting document)
- A colored passport size photograph
