The 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival is hosted by the Dazzling City of Taichung. It has three major exhibit areas located in the main Forest Park Area and Horse Ranch Park Area of the Houli Flora Expo Site and at Wenxin Forest Forest Park. This year’s Taiwan Lantern Festival will be from February 8-23, 2020.

How to get to Taiwan Lantern Festival Main Exhibit Area
From Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport
Take a bus to the Taiwan High-Speed Rail Station. From there, take the High-Speed Rail and get off at Miaoli THSR Station then walk around 5 minutes to Fengfu Station. Take the TRA train to Houli Station, where the main exhibit area is located. The travel time from Fengfu Station to Houli Station is around 40 minutes and the fare is around TWD50.
From Taipei and other towns and cities in the north
Take the high-speed rail from Taipei Main Station to Miaoli THSR Station and follow the instructions above. The train travel from Taipei Main Station to Miaoli THSR using the high-speed rail is only about 40 minutes. The fare is around Php709.
Alternatively, if you are on a tight budget, you can take the local train from Taipei Main Station all the way to Houli Station via the Mountain Line to Chiayi. The fare is only around TWD200+ but it will take you around 3 hours to get to Houli.
Coming from the South
Take the high-speed rail to Taichung HSR Station then walk for about 10 minutes to Xinwuri TRA Station to Houli Station where the main exhibit area is located.
