Governor Generoso successfully hosted the 1st Camp Bernardino de Lavigan Open Fishing Competition. A total of 40 anglers from 10 different fishing clubs all over Mindanao participated in the event.

Allinmar Morgia of Tawtaw Anglers Club based in Tacurong took home the grand prize of Php20,000 with his 40-kg oil fish catch.

Jeremy Molina of Anglers Den / Ryoshi Anglers, on the hand, was awarded the second prize of Php15,000 with his 6.2kgs swordfish catch.

The third prize of Php10,000 went to Erwin Bollozos also from Tawtaw Anglers Club with his 5.5kgs ruby snapper catch.

Tawtaw Anglers Club was declared Cumulative Champion with a total accumulated catch of 18.3kgs aside from their 40kgs oil fish.

The 1st GovGen Open Fishing Competition was supported by the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region XI headed by Regional Director Tanya Rabat Tan, GovGen LGU represented by Municipal Mayor Juanito “Kulot” Inojales, Davao Oriental Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), MAritime Police Office of GovGen, and Philippine Coast Guard Gov Gen Sub Office.

It was organized by Pelagic Anglers PH and Atty. Anton Banzali of Camp Bernardino de Lavigan.
