After an extended break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Qatar Airways is gradually restoring most of its former flight routes. On Tuesday at ITB Berlin, the airline announced the resumption of flights to 11 destinations. These destinations include Beijing in China, Birmingham in the UK, Buenos Aires in Argentina, Casablanca and Marrakech in Morocco, Davao in the Philippines, Nice in France, Osaka and Tokyo Haneda in Japan, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and Ras Al-Khaimah in the UAE.

Although the resumption dates for Casablanca and Marrakech are yet to be confirmed, Qatar Airways has announced the restart of its flight routes to the remaining 9 destinations. The Doha-Beijing route is set to be the first to resume on March 26, with Davao following suit on April 1. Nice will resume on May 9, Tokyo Haneda on June 1, and Birmingham on July 10. Flights to Phnom Pen will resume on October 29, followed by Ras Al Haima on November 1, Buenos Aires on December 8, and Osaka on March 1, 2024.

Qatar Airways to resume flights to Davao

Aside from the resumption of flights, Qatar Airways also announced its upcoming new routes. Mr. Akbar Al Baker, the CEO of Qatar Airways, revealed that the airline will be adding seven new destinations to its flight routes. Starting on June 16, the airline will fly to Trabzon (Turkey), followed by Lyon (France) from July 3. While the date for Toulouse (France) is yet to be confirmed, the airline will also add Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo), Juba (South Sudan), Medan (Indonesia) from January 15, 2024, and Chittagong (Bangladesh) from March 11, 2024, to its list of destinations.

The airline used to fly to Davao via Clark prior to the pandemic. By April, it will fly via Cebu. It will operate a triangular flight route from Doha to Cebu and Davao, utilizing a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and flying every Saturday. Flight QR-936 will take off from Doha at 3:05 AM local time and arrive in Cebu at 5:55 PM local time. After a brief 1.5 hours layover in Cebu, it will depart at 7:25 PM local time and arrive in Davao at 8:30 PM local time. The final leg of the journey will depart from Davao at 10:30 PM local time and arrive in Doha at 3:55 AM local time.
