The Border Crossing Experience
The border crossing process between Croatia and Montenegro was smooth and uncomplicated in my experience. Travelers holding Philippine passports are required to obtain a visa to enter Montenegro. However, those with a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa can enter Montenegro without an additional visa requirement.
During the border crossing, we were required to disembark from the bus to have our passports stamped. This procedure was efficiently conducted, taking less than 10 minutes. The officials handled the process promptly, allowing us to continue our journey with minimal delay.
Arriving in Kotor
Kotor’s main bus station is conveniently located within a 10-minute walking distance from the Old Town. If you are staying in or near the Old Town, I highly recommend walking as the most convenient option.
Taxis, even if taken, would need to stop at the entrance to the Old Town since vehicles are not permitted inside the pedestrianized area. This means that taking a taxi for such a short and flat distance would essentially result in unnecessary expenses. Therefore, walking to your destination is not only a cost-effective choice but also allows you to enjoy the charming surroundings of Kotor as you make your way into the Old Town.
