You are currently viewing A Destination For Nature Lovers: Exploring Baguio’s Mirador Heritage and Eco Park

Located in Mirador Hills beside Lourdes Grotto, the Mirador Heritage and Eco Park is quickly becoming one of the top attractions in the City of Pines. For vacationers hoping to enjoy the atmosphere of Japan, all they have to do is drive up to Baguio and visit this new park. It’s quickly becoming popular with tourists and locals alike because of its Instagram-worthy Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, charming rock gardens, and the Mirador Peace Memorial.

You’ll immediately relax and feel at ease upon visiting the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, with its verdant ambiance and Baguio’s cooling breezes everywhere. While St. Francis Xavier Seminary also has its own Bamboo Sanctuary in Pacdal-Liteng, this area offers a charming uphill adventure that lets you hike through earthy rock gardens. Mirador’s rock gardens have many pathways that you can explore at your own pace, so wear comfy shoes to walk around.

The Mirador Peace Memorial is another popular stop in this eco park because of its picturesque torii gate with a bell. Interestingly, that bell is one of only two that were saved from Mirador Hill after the bombing of Baguio during World War II. While this memorial is a sight to behold even on a foggy afternoon, we highly recommend that you visit it during sunset for a dramatic photo.

When you’re done walking through the picturesque park grounds, get refreshments at Cafe Iñigo, which was named in honor of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Formerly a PLDT long-distance station, you can now enjoy refreshing beverages and baked goods with a spectacular view at this repurposed cafe.

The Mirador Heritage and Eco Park may be home to the Jesuit Villa and Retreat House, but its entire grounds can feel like a serene sanctuary. Take a stroll here to reflect and get closer to nature.

Hello. Thank you for the information. Do you think senior citizen around 65 yrs old would be able to walk around the park ? Is there any easier way to get to the top of the hill (red gate) ? Thanks

The red gate is close to an exit where you can park a car. Not sure though if it also serves as an entrance. If you will be coming from the main entrance, it will be very difficult to climb up for a sr citizen.

I see… So sounds like the whole place is about climbing or is there some area for just light walking/sightseeing ? And lastly, would you know if there are taxis there to go back home ? Thanks in advance.
