Beginning in January 2024, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) will implement an adjustment in its members’ premium contributions following the Universal Health Care (UHC) law. The new premium contribution rate will rise from 4% to 5% of their monthly basic salary.

This adjustment is mandated by the UHC law and aims to support the government’s initiative of enhancing healthcare services for all Filipinos. By increasing the contribution rates, PhilHealth anticipates a bolstering of its funds, which will in turn enable the expansion of benefits available to its members. These benefits encompass a broader scope of medical services and treatments, thus fortifying the overall healthcare coverage provided by PhilHealth.

The income ceiling will also increase from increase from PHP90,000 to PHP100,000.

How much is the previous Philhealth contribution rate?

The minimum contribution rate last year was Php400 and only up to Php3,200.

How Much is the Philhealth Contribution Rate in 2024?

As mentioned above, the Philhealth contribution rate will increase from 4% to 5%. Meaning, if you earn Php10,000 monthly, you will now pay Php500.

How to pay your Philheath Contribution?

If you are employed, it will be deducted from your monthly salary. If you are a self-employed or voluntary member, you can pay monthly, quarterly, or annually. If you pay annually, you need to pay before the end of January.

You can visit any Bayad Center or Western Union outlet and pay your premium. Just make sure you have your Philhealth ID number when paying.

After making the payment, you can access your Philhealth account online to confirm that your payment has been posted.
