Samsung officially introduced its newest Galaxy devices in the Philippines during Galaxy Unpacked at Whitespace Manila, giving the creator community an early look at the company’s latest innovations in foldables, wearables, and Galaxy AI.

The event wasn’t just about unveiling new hardware. It highlighted Samsung’s vision of creating a more connected Galaxy ecosystem where AI works seamlessly across devices to help users be more productive, creative, and informed throughout the day.

This year’s Galaxy Z lineup introduces three distinct foldables designed for different lifestyles. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is built for users who want the ultimate productivity and content creation experience. The all-new Galaxy Z Fold8 offers a fresh approach to foldables with immersive entertainment and everyday versatility. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip8 continues to evolve as Samsung’s most stylish foldable, combining portability, self-expression, and AI-powered convenience. Together, they represent Samsung’s most complete foldable lineup yet.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: Built for Productivity Without Compromise

One of the highlights of the event was getting a closer look at the new Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.

Samsung describes it as bringing the Ultra experience to foldables, and after seeing it up close, it’s easy to understand why. Despite featuring a spacious 8-inch main display, the device feels impressively slim and lightweight. Measuring just 4.1 mm when unfolded and weighing only 215 grams, it strikes an excellent balance between portability and productivity.

The larger display immediately stands out as a workspace built for multitasking. Whether editing photos, managing multiple apps, reviewing documents, or using Galaxy AI, the extra screen real estate makes everything feel more natural.

Samsung also equipped the Fold8 Ultra with its most advanced camera system yet. The 200 MP main camera captures detailed images, while the new 50 MP ultra-wide camera provides greater flexibility for landscapes, interiors, and close-up shots. Improved Nightography enhances low-light photography, and support for 8K recording using the APV codec gives content creators even more room to work with during editing.

Powering the experience is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, paired with a larger 5,000 mAh battery, faster charging, and an improved cooling system designed to keep up with demanding workloads throughout the day.

Galaxy Z Fold8: Designed Around Everyday Discovery

While the Fold8 Ultra targets professionals and creators, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is designed for users looking to enjoy the benefits of a foldable in everyday life.

Samsung reimagined the experience around how people naturally interact with their phones. The cover screen feels familiar for quick tasks like replying to messages or browsing social media. Open the device, and the larger display becomes an immersive space for streaming videos, reading articles, gaming, or exploring content.

Another impressive detail is how light it feels in the hand. At just 201 grams, it’s Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold yet, while still offering a larger 4,800 mAh battery for longer use throughout the day.

Samsung also introduced Flex Titanium technology across the new Galaxy Z series. The titanium-based display structure helps make the devices thinner while improving durability and reducing crease visibility over time. Combined with refinements to the hinge, unfolding the device feels smoother and more natural.

Photography also gets meaningful upgrades. Dual 50 MP cameras capture detailed images from both wide and ultra-wide perspectives, while features like Dual Recording and My FanCam make it easier to create videos that are ready to share on social media.

Galaxy Z Flip8: Smarter, Sleeker, and More Personal

Samsung continues to refine one of its most recognizable foldables with the Galaxy Z Flip8.

The new model is thinner and lighter than ever, weighing just 180 grams while measuring only 6.1 mm when unfolded. It remains compact enough to slip into almost any pocket while still delivering a flagship smartphone experience.

One of the biggest changes is the redesigned FlexWindow. Rather than simply displaying notifications, the larger cover screen now serves as an AI-powered interface where users can view personalized updates, access shortcuts, and complete tasks without unfolding the phone. Features like Now Brief and Gemini Intelligence bring useful information and connected actions directly to the cover screen.

Samsung also continues to build on the Flip’s reputation as a content creation device. The upgraded 50 MP camera with ProVisual Engine delivers detailed selfies with natural skin tones, while Flex Mode enables hands-free shooting from different angles. Features like FlipShot and Mirror View make creating content even easier without requiring additional accessories.

Galaxy AI Connects the Entire Experience

Throughout the presentations and product demonstrations, Galaxy AI remained at the center of Samsung’s message.

Rather than treating AI as a standalone feature, Samsung showcased how it works across the entire Galaxy ecosystem. Galaxy AI can organize notes, summarize documents, assist with planning, surface helpful recommendations, and simplify everyday tasks using Gemini Intelligence. On the larger foldable displays, these experiences feel even more intuitive by allowing users to work across multiple apps at the same time.

Samsung also continues to emphasize privacy through Samsung Knox, giving users greater transparency and control over how their personal data and AI experiences are managed.

The Experience Extends to Your Wrist

The foldables may have taken center stage, but Samsung also introduced two new smartwatches that perfectly complement the new Galaxy phones.

The new Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is designed for outdoor adventures and demanding activities, offering advanced sports tracking, longer battery life, and improved durability. During the event, Samsung highlighted new features like Trail Run tracking, hydration guidance, and professional diving support, making it the company’s most capable smartwatch to date.

For users focused on everyday wellness, the Galaxy Watch9 offers continuous health tracking in a lightweight, comfortable design. AI-powered features including Heart Health Score, Fitness Index, Vitals, Daily Cardio Load, and Hearing insights help transform daily health data into practical recommendations that support long-term wellness.

What ties everything together is Samsung’s connected ecosystem. The new Galaxy Z series and Galaxy Watch lineup are designed to work seamlessly together, allowing AI to deliver more personalized insights and smarter experiences across multiple devices. Whether you’re managing your schedule, tracking workouts, monitoring your health, or staying productive throughout the day, each device contributes to a more connected experience.
